Opened in 1994 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the current sultan's rule - and of course named after him - this grandiose, air-conditioned affair accommodates up to 5,000 worshippers and boasts 29 golden domes and four 60-meter minarets. Unlike many in the Islamic world, it welcomes non-Muslim visitors (no photos allowed, though).
