Hilton Head & 3 of its top vacation-rental communities

Hilton Head Island, off South Carolina's Low Country coast, has been a resort destination for 65 years now, with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, world-class beaches, and golf courses. The island's hub is Forest Beach, dubbed its "unofficial dowtown," it includes Coligny Plaza, the best place to go shopping or dining, along with a duck pond in the middle of the plaza. On summer nights the area is especially active, with live music, magic shows, and concerts on every corner (also, head…

Charleston in 'Spring Has Sprung & U.S. Gardens Await Discovery'

Spring is here, and summer's already around the corner!  If you’re a flower gardener - and the National Gardening Association estimates that members of over a third of U.S. households are - you already may have begun to till soil and plant seeds. And those who like to travel as well as garden (as well as those who enjoy gardens more by watching than working), now is time to plan a trip to take in some of Mother Nature’s bountiful beauty. Gardens come in a variety of types, sizes and offerings.…

Whitewater rafting cited in 'In the USA this Fall, Combine Foliage with Adventure'

Dan and Mary Stroudt oooh and aaah at the multicolored scenery below the hot air balloon in which they’re riding. The journey is very different for Mark and Marylee Sutherland as they help to paddle a rubber raft along a stretch of whitewater in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Betsy Goodman and Tom Cross are traveling at a slower pace, strolling across a glass-bottom observation deck. These disparate experiences may seem to have little in common, but they do. They provide…

  • Also regarding Mike Eland's post:  Business travelers love a free USA Today.  Sounds small but they really do.  You could offer one or two copies in your breakfast room each Mon-Fri, if you don't already.  I didn't see it mentioned on your website but I could have missed it.  Wish we had business customers here!  We are strictly leisure.

  • Ditto Mike Eland's post!  Our small upstate town is Pickens, SC and we own The Inn at Table Rock Bed & Breakfast.  Visit our website at www.theinnattablerock.com and follow us on Twitter and Facebook, too!
  • Greeting from a small southern town in Upcountry South Carolina!

The Magnolia Inn Bed and Breakfast is a small bed and breakfast inn, surrounded by several pecan and southern magnolia trees, located in downtown Chester, South Carolina. More information is available on our site www.magnoliainnchester.com. What I would like are comments on what is the one thing you offer/provide that brings a guest back to your inn. Majority of our returning guest are business travelers.
