You can see magnificent views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtren, Khubtse, Changtse, Lola, Nuptse, Everest, Lhotse, and lots of other high mountains in 360-degree angles from Kalapatthar. You hike there from Gorakshep taking 2 hours early morning during the Everest base camp trek, Everest high passes trek, and Everest base camp Gokyo Lakes trek. Hiking in the evening for sunset is highly recommended. There is a helipad on the way to the summit of this peak, where the helicopters land to see Everest and more during the Everest base camp helicopter tour. You can also fly back direct to Kathmandu from Gorakshep after the Kalapatthar hike on the same day if you do not have enough time to complete the regular Everest base camp trekking itinerary.
