The people in the region of what is today Kuwait have a millennia-long history of fishing and seafaring, with maritime trade reaching as far back as ancient Mesopotamia and extending as far as the Indian subcontinent. This museum near the waterfront displays a wide variety of wooden models of dhows and other traditional ships, as well as navigation instruments and photos as well as artifacts relating to the fishing and pearling industries.
