Thank you so much. Local knowledge is worth gold. We ate there last year at a place that had opened that day! Can't offhand remember the name but it was something to do with a newspaper - .... Giornale? - and was between the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's. I need to dig thru my files to fin the name.

Ed.. regarding fish restaurants in Venice. I live in Mestre which is across the bridge on the main land. I have lived here for 20 yrs. The only places that I will eat in Venice are below. I highly recommend them. I like Corte Sconta but only for lunch. I haven't been there in awhile though..

For a great place for pizza in Naples, try Da Michele. It offers just two types, the plane tomato and the margherita. Can't go wrong. Go ahead and get in the queue.:))
