Lantau is a world away from busy Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Located where the Pearl River flows into the South China Sea, it´s largely forested, with the few high-rise buildings located along the coast. It is home to Hong Kong International Airport, Disneyland, a 25-minute scenic cable car ride, Po Lin Monastery, the giant brass Tian Tan Buddha (pictured here), and Tai O fishing village.
