I remember being quite charmed by this town of just over 45,000 when I visited almost 20 years ago. It´s somewhat confusingly called Copán Ruinas, while the ruinas themselves are called simply Copán, but whatever. It´s where you overnight while visiting the Mayan UNESCO World Heritage Site, and besides fetching little hotels, hostels, and guesthouses is also packed with restaurants, bars, cafés, galleries, and Spanish language schools.
