My husband and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Pride in Spain´s (and arguably the world´s) top gay resort capital, the Andalusia city of Torremolinos, which pulls in some 50,000 to 60,000 visitors from across Europe and beyond (no word yet on how many it was this year, held from May 29 to June 2). And I must confess, I prefer it to Madrid´s blockbuster version, which attracts a million and a half and while it´s a blast, it´s also exhausting and overcrowded. Here it´s more than crowded and diverse enough to be fun without being overwhelming, with plenty of concerts, parties, a parade, and cultural events (among which we caught a remarkable movie called "Te Estoy Amando Locamente" - in English "Love and Revolution" - set at the beginning of the LGBT civil rights movement in Seville in the late 1970s).
