The diminutive poison dart frog

One of Costa Rica´s most notable categories of wildlife is its amphibians - with some 150 species of frogs alone, and many of them diminutive and coming in various brightly colours. One group, poison dart frogs, are so called because their venom was traditionally used by aborigines to poison the tips of their spears.
