Along the waterfront, we had a peek at the Parque Marítimo del Mediterráneo, a striking saltwater lagoon and lido complex built into the rocky shoreline, blending public pool, garden, sculpture park, and casino designed in part by the famed Canarian architect and environmentalist César Manrique. Being out of season, it was drained and deserted, but we could certainly see the appeal and imagine it in full summer swing.
