A warehouse wharf district on the Singapore River dating from the early 19th-century was beginning in the 1990s redeveloped into what is today five blocks of restaurants, shops, nightspots and other entertainment venues. Daytime attractions include the G-Max Reverse Bungy, nearby Fort Canning Park (with gardens and remnants of the colonial-era fort), and a number of river cruises.
