Established in 2008 at the site of , this 1.5-hectare open-air complex is a mix of more than 2,000 original, reconstructed, and relocated monuments and artifacts which illustrate the history of Azerbaijan from Neolithic times up to the Middle Ages. Besides the castle museum there's another devoted to archaeology and ethnography, and a third to antiques. Other attractions include a petting zoo and even take classes in carpet weaving, pottery making, blacksmithing, and baking traditional lavash flatbread.
