Nearly 3,300 feet (one kilometer) wide and three quarters of a mile (1.2km) long, the palace´s modest little backyard includes French formal gardens (though as with the interior, I´ve seen even more impressive, such as at Versailles), a hedge maze, and various sculptures, fountains, and ¨follies.¨ Quite a spread, if not exactly my favorite kind of garden.
