The remarkable coffins of Sagada, in the Philippines

One of the most remarkable features of this town of around 12,000 in the highlands of Luzon, the Philippines' most populous island (and about a six-hour drive from Manila), is its tradition of burial in hanging coffins, practiced for more than 2,000 years.
