Tirana has a pyramid!

The Pyramid of Tirana, a ten-to-15-minute walk south of Skanderbeg Square, was built in 1988 as a mausoleum for dictator Enver Hoxha - who had finally kicked the bucket three years earlier - but ended up being used for a series of other things before falling into disrepair (some wanted it torn down as a relic of the dictatorship) and finally being rehabilitated in 2023. Today it´s home to tech and entertainment studios as well as conference and workshop facilities, along with a s mattering of bars and restaurants. We climbed its sloping steps (I didn´t count how many, but estimates vary between 100 and 150; there´s also an elevator) and got a bit of a view around the downtown area.
