In Blloku, a part of town just a few minutes´ stroll from Skanderbeg Square, and which was home to a number of homes and institutions associated with the dictatorship, such as Villa 51 (above), the former residence of dictator Enver Hoxha, which is now an artists´ center open to visitors only during events (actually, we were a bit surprised at how modest it is - though of course still grand compared to how the average citizen lived back in the day).
