  • Day 5: FYI I am here in Paris producing my new 30 DAYS IN PARIS project. I can easily see how the new terror warning could hurt this city. A terrorist act could really shut it down especially if it is targeted at tourists. This is a PR nightmare.
  • Today I read about how an officer representing the tourism division of Bangkok addressed a group of reporters for 45 minutes, presumably addressing the state of tourism in Bangkok, ignored the unrest that plagued the city this past spring, and then, when pressed, declared that the unrest had not affected any tourists(!).
Now, Bangkok's situation is exactly the sort of thing I used to manage as a crisis management publicist, so I'm puzzled by this official's behavior. Do you think he really thought that everyone would agree to make believe the riots never occurred?
