Generally Oriental Garden, for congee at Congee Village. From dim-sum I would go to Mei Li Wah on Bayard. However, if you forget Chinatown but still Manhattan then 56th between 8th & Bway is Szechuan Gourmet.

Marilyn and Ed -- Yes, Chock Full o Nuts opened on 23rd St. earlier this year, and is serving the classic NYC egg cream with real old-fashioned U-Bet. Also the classic nutted cream cheese on raisin bread sandwich of my youth. Remember when NYC was chock full of these luncheonettes? Before Starbucks. I reviewed the restaurant on my NYC on the Cheap website back in July.

A new Chock full o' Nuts on 23rd St. serves all the great classics: date-nut bread with cream cheese, whole wheat doughnuts, an egg cream with Fox's U-BET syrup, milk shakes, even malted milk shakes. Could there possibly be anything better?

You must be kidding :) There are more demostrations outside UN in any given month, but that's boring and not newsworthy. With respect to tourism i doubt any travel plans have been disrupted.
