    I'll go out to a nice restaurant with the family tonight. Its out last night out in Penn. before we go back to FLA.  And tonight I bet we won't need reservations. We're watching the Mummer's parade right now on the tube and its a hundred times better than it was years ago. Net year we'll go there in person God willing. If your home turn it on!

    I have watched the New Years Day Mummers Parade since I was a little, often in person by going with my family to Broad Street. But even after all these I always look forward to seeing it. If you're not lucky enough to be in Philadelphia for this early burst of Mardi Gras costumes and music, watch it on TV. You'll love it!

    2nd year in a row we got less snow in blizzard in poconos than Philadelphia but it is still beautiful out here, not black snow like in the city. Kids went skiing at camelback dressed like Santas and they wanted to win a free season pass but someone else won that. Still they skied for free and they know about other deals at Camelback and other area ski resorts. I hope their's a plane for me and the wife when we go to the airport to go back to Fla.

As Chuck pointed out our tourism budget has been reduced dramatically along with many other state services.     I'm a new follower, and want to reflect on Allie's 10/06 post.  Most PA residents are not aware of the impact of PA Tourism.  I work in that sector; and here are some important facts:  Tourism promotion funding was reduced from $32M in 2009 to $14.2 in 2010; and then the Rendell administration cut further to only $11.2M midway thru the year; an overall 65% reduction.  Did you know Tourism is the 2nd largest industry in PA, behind Agriculture?  And, that the Tourism budget in the Pocono Mountain Region rivals Philly's?  A mere $28 billion is injected into the PA economy with 400,000 jobs & $10.7 billion in wage/benefits & $2.8 billion on state & municipal taxes.  Help us keep PA a great tourism spot.  And, if I can help anyone with answers on PA tourism; if I don't know the answer, I'll find out!  Regards to everyone.
