A stellar stay at the Commander Hotel in Ocean City

Notyourbroom Ocean City is a resort town on a barrier island off a stretch of southern Maryland coast, featuring miles of beach; a wooden boardwalk lined with restaurants, shops, theme-park attractions, and quite a few hotels. So on a recent visit with my daughter, we had a lot to choose from. We bypassed the chain properties in favor of a cherished local independent, the Commander.
