  • Hi Tripatini members!

I am doing some research on traveler perceptions about Oman- why tourists may choose to go to the Sultanate (country), what types of tourism they associate with Oman and what some of the obstacles to Omani tourism development may be.

I have put together a very quick 8 question survey, ideally for people who have not yet been. It would be wonderful to get as many responses as possible, and I know tripatini is a network for global travelers, so please fill it out if you have a spare 5 minutes.

    Here is the link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SH9NPDT

    Thank you very much!

  • Hi Ed, yes it is. Sorry to hear that the dates are bad for you. But spread the word!

  • Thanks, Ariane. I just went to the website; bad dates for me, which is too bad. This looks like a terrific event.

  • Any group members interested in learning and networking about global ecotourism in Monterrey at TIES yearly Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference ?

    http://www.ecotourismconference.org/

As a new member of the TIES advisory board, I went to last years conference. I found it very worthwhile and the ESTC2012 is one of the few international events I have registered for.

Some great speakers, opportunities to see what Monterrey is doing sustainability wise. And it is always great to catch up with ecotourism friends from all around the world and meet new ones.  For those who have businesses this is a great opportunity to showcase yourself to some top influencers.

  • Mexican President Felipe Calderon just announced the cancellation of a $2 billion tourist development in Baja California, bowing to opposition by environmentalists that said the plan was a threat to a nearby coral reef. (Reuters) This development would have included golf courses, a marina, and 15 hotels.   How surprised are you that it was cancelled?

  • Anyone have any suggestions for a fellow Tripatini member about the best place in INDIA for game drives/safaris? If so, please respond not on this wall but rather at this link to our Ask A Travel Pro forumShukriya!
