Discovering wine and more in New York State's Finger Lakes region

Luke Petrinec/Steuban County CVB As a member of the International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA), I was fortunate to attend a webinar on the Corning and the Southern Finger Lakes presented by Kevin Costello, president and CEO of the Steuben County Conference and Visitors Bureau, and Dave DeGolye, the bureau’s communications manager. I was only somewhat familiar with this wine region, so was pleased to learn more about its wineries as well as to be introduced to all its…

Saying 'G’Day' to some fine Australian wines

  • Just wanted to share with you our new guest post on the Bucelas wine region which is only half an hour away from Lisbon, perfect for a day out of the city, if you are visiting the Portuguese capital. They focus on fresh, dry white wines from the Arinto grape variety.

  • Anybody know anything about wines from Majorca (Mallorca), in Spain's Balearic Islands?  They're not the country's best known wines (I don't even know if any are exported), but has anyone heard anything about them or tasted any?
  • Ladies join us for a wine tour through Napa Valley in Oct. We also will be visiting San Fancisco to complete a full tour of the area.

  • Following up on my award, I've written a post about what the travel industry and wine industry can learn from each other about wine tourism. Comments on the post welcome.

Also, a chance to win a sub to jancisrobinson.com subscription site as it was part of my prize that I am going to pass onto someone else (as I have one!).

  • Thanks very much Andrea, Doug and David ... and David, I'm sorry I don't do much on here for now, but hoping to devote more time to wine travel blogging and my own Wine Travel Guides website again from this summer - have had to devote some time to other things recently.

  • Born Digital Wine Awards Winners

Yesterday I was proud to be the first recipient of the Wine Tourism Award for a blog post I submitted.

I think it's particularly interesting that this is the first time that I've seen a "Wine Tourism" category in any awards.

Here is my winning post: Wine Days out in the French Alps.
