Anybody know anything about wines from Majorca (Mallorca), in Spain's Balearic Islands? They're not the country's best known wines (I don't even know if any are exported), but has anyone heard anything about them or tasted any?

Born Digital Wine Awards Winners

Yesterday I was proud to be the first recipient of the Wine Tourism Award for a blog post I submitted.

I think it's particularly interesting that this is the first time that I've seen a "Wine Tourism" category in any awards.

Assis Lobo Doc Palmela . It’s a red wine from 2004 that get older during 12 months in deposit plus 12 months in the bottle. Purplish red colour with a intense flavours of red fruits and spices. To taste this amazing wine, is adviced a temperature of 18º Celsius degrees preferable with a dish of meat or a strong flavor cheeses. The vineyard has a total of 60 hectares and produces amazing wines. This company has international recognition with a total of 13 awards, specially on AWC Vienna (2006, 2007, 2008 – Silver Medal) for this wine.
