If I don't like the service I don't tip (or don't tip as well). The cruise line withholding what I do tip is not right.
Crews on P&0 Cruises who are paid a basic salary of as little as 75p an hour face having extra tips from passengers withheld unless they hit performance targets. -The Guardian (UK) Management says this will improve service. Will it?

Maritime law requires that a ship comes to the rescue if they see a distress signal. I was on Seabourn Odyssey this winter when the ship rescued three stranded fishermen in the South Pacific. Your vacation & how much you spent on it does not outweigh the lives lost on that other boat.
If you spent thousands of dollars to be on vacation and it was YOUR ship in distress (like the Costa Concordia) how would you feel if other ships / boats did not feel obligated to help you out?
This morning on talk radio there talking about the Carnival cruiseship that didn't stop to help a fishing boat. If I'm on that cruiseship and it's my vacation and I spent a lot of money, and there are a thousand other passengers just like me, should we really HAVE TO pause to help another boat? Shouldnt that be our choice to make?
