    After having spent four weeks in Feb.touring Delhi,Jaipur,Amritsar, I have a feeling that there is an untapped potential to organize tours around secondary cities of spiritual importance. In Amritsar I noticed many tourist flocking to Golden Temple. Mixing Architectural/Spiritual with culinary experience for secondary cities would appeal to second time visitors who took the initial Delhi-Agra-Jaipur trip.

    The reduction of total seat capacity/weekly for inbound international started happening since early Fall '09. DL stopped their US/BOM non-stop on 777-LR, AY suspended their HEL-BOM route. And a few others suspended route-pairs to other airports. Now we see a kind of increased influx of traffic to the kumbh mela, the consequence of which is felt by some of us who now find upgrades and upgradeable inventory become non-existent.

    Given that visa-on-arrival has begun for 5 countries; it would behoove a resilient Tour operator to combine a package of Buddhist historical sites in India to Japanese tourists. In the past, the visa issues filtered out on-the-spur as well as casual tourists to India.

Do any of you know of tour operators who cater to individuals travelling alone? Is it possible to join a houseboat that coordinates different parties on one boat? Advice most welcome. thanks!
