3 of the Caribbean´s best Sandals resorts for honeymoons

Sandals Grande St. Lucian Based in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the famous Caribbean resort chain founded in 1981 by legendary Jamaican entrepreneur Gordon "Butch" Stewart was instrumental in pioneering the "all-inclusive" concept - paying one (usually very attractive) rate to cover all food and drink as well as many activities and amenities, in addition to just a room. • Max,
I have to agree with you about the water. I'm currently hovering in Phuket, Thailand and although everyone has bottled water etc, the mini-bar still charges. However, I can't really grumble because the place I'm staying is fantastic. £20 a night, huge ensuite room, free beach towel, 100m from the beach and they offer reams of information and advice if you ask! Definitely found myself a bargain!
  • I do not like the daily resort fees. They really add a lot of $$ to the bill and for many items that I do not use. And I really do not like the room service delivery charge added on top of the room service fee, both of which need to be supplemented with a tip to the delivery person. Instead, I'll have the hotel restaurant call me when my food is ready and I'll go pick it up. Saves lots of $ and I get the food sooner.
  • Resort fees, fees for local calls, energy fees. Not a fee, per se, but non-refundable, non-cancellable prepaid reservations.
  • Max, definitely an interesting article. I agree about the water. For me, I think the charging for wi-fi or Internet in general is a big offender.
  • Interesting story on outrageous hotel surcharges today. What do YOU think are the worst offenders in the hotel pile-on charge category?

Mine: charging for bottled water in places where the tap water is not potable.
