Kariega Game Reserve: a South African recovery story

    Below is some information on the birding course “Birding in the Bush” available at EcoTraining Camps in South Africa and Botswana.

    This Training Course has been designed to cater for those who wish to learn the basics of Bird Identification or improve their existing identification skills.

    It is very much a practical course, although there are some lectures which include the following:

    Birding Ethics and Code of Conduct

    Birding Equipment

    Bird Anatomy and Physiology

    Species Identification in the field

    Courses incorporate theory sessions during the day and practical bird
    identification sessions of early morning and late afternoon drive/walks. 
    Usually, the theory session is held after breakfast or before departing on the
    afternoon walk or drive.

    6 March – 12 March – Kruger national park (Makuleke private concession)

    20 September – 26 September – Botswana (Mashatu Game reserve)

    21 October – 27 October - Kruger national park (Makuleke private concession)

  • The northern most reaches of Kenyza are agreeably having problems with piracy or militant sectors but further south on the coastline ie) Diani are perfectly safe for tourists as are tghe majority of other holiday destinations within the country like Masai Mara
