  • re: a service trip in Costa Rica. I found this a little tricky because Costa Rica is such a well-run country with high literacy rates and a lifespan equivalent to that in the U.S. But the owner of Finca Rosa Blanca, the ecolodge with the highest environmental ratings in Costa Rica, has a suggestion:

    There are a bunch of organizations in Costa Rica, many of them are language schools which offer a social work component.
