I just visited the "Book of Kells Experience" at Dublin´s Trinity College, an elaborate exhibition surrounding the famous 9th-century illustrated bible manuscript created by monks at an isolated island monastery and held at this college since 1661. An open leaf of the book is at the center of the exhibition but is only a small part of it - the rest being annotated blowups of various pages as well as this eight-minute video (a snippet of which is shown here) narrating the tome´s history with a phantasmagorical selection of its images and texts. A really entertaining way to bring it to life!
