Nepal is in its infancy in psychological counseling. However, many children suffer from emotional trauma as a result of the recent insurgency. Disabled children, orphans, and homeless youth also need counseling. To meet this need, the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation (NYOF) established the Ankur Counseling Center in 2007. Ankurs counselors, who have Masters degrees in clinical psychology, provide therapy to disadvantaged children. This counseling is enabling children who have endured unimaginable hardships to fulfill their potential.Ankur complements its counseling with a wide range of trainings for people who work with children. To learn more about Ankur and NYOFs other programs to transform the lives of some of the most underprivileged children in Nepal, please visit http://www.NYOF.org .
