Inti Raymi festival in Cusco

The Inti Raymi is a festival held every year in Cusco. 

The Incas, like many other indigenous peoples around the world,  worshiped the sun, and every 24th of June they held the ”Inti Raymi”, which means ”sun party” in Quechua.  It starts at the temple of the sun, and goes to the main square.  It finishes at Sacsayhuamán. Sacrifices were made during the event. Sacred Valley Maras and Moray

Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu

There are two mountains by the site of Machu Picchu, called Machu Picchu Mountain and Huayna Picchu Mountain.  

Huayna Picchu is the mountain that you see in most pictures of Machu Picchu.  It is located on the other side of the valley opposite Machu Picchu.  Machu Picchu means ”old peak” in Quechua and Huayna Picchu means ”young peak”. We offer tours that allow you to see these mountains, and of course the Machu Picchu itself.
