The Everest base camp trek begins with a short, scenic, adventurous flight from Kathmandu or Ramechhap. It is a 12-day walking trip from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. There are hundreds of trekkers walking on this route every day during the high trekking seasons in Nepal.

It takes 8 days to reach the base camp after leaving Kathmandu, including 2 rest days on the way up in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche for altitude practice. You trek back to Lukla in 3 days, which means you walk for 8 days because coming down is a lot easier.

You can see great views of the high mountains from the Everest Himalayas, attractive landscapes, vegetation, wildlife, rivers, waterfalls, valleys, and lots of other natural attractions along the way to the Everest base camp. Beautiful Sherpa villages with traditionally carved buildings also decorate the region. You also have a great time seeing the Sherpa culture and lifestyle of the region.

Besides natural and cultural things, you can also see several ancient historical Buddhist monasteries during the EBC trek. You can join the offerings with the monks in those religious monasteries along the way.

This 12-day trek can be customized in 9 days as a short base camp trek in Nepal. You follow the same itinerary as the regular base camp trek itinerary up to the base camp and then fly out from Gorakshep on a helicopter after visiting the base camp and Kalapatthar.

It is a cold region, so you need to have warm trekking equipment for the trek. Usually, there are lots of trekkers in the autumn and spring because these are the best times to trek to Everest base camp. You need to be careful of altitude sickness during the trek when you are in high areas. You do not need to bring food and a tent for the trek because there are plenty of guesthouses to stay in and they serve food from a menu.

Exploring the Everest region with a helicopter tour is the quickest option. It is a thrilling 4-hour helicopter flight tour. The EBC Heli Tour is a group flight trip that takes you to the bottom of the world's highest mountain.

The journey begins at the Kathmandu airport, where five people board a helicopter and fly to Lukla. You land here for about 10–15 minutes for refueling and then fly to Pheriche. You will divide into two different suttles from here because the helicopter can’t land at Kalapatthar full of travelers.

You can see the nearest glimpse of Mt. Everest and 360° mountain views of the Everest Himalayas from the Kalapatthar. After enjoying the stunning views, you fly over the base camp and the Khumbu glaciers. When the helicopter completes both shuttles to Kala Patthar and then flies to the Hotel Everest View in Syangboche, Here, you stop for breakfast, then fly to Lukla for the final landing before you return to Kathmandu.
