The Braj Chaurasi Kos Yatra is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages for devotees of Lord Krishna because it covers the entire divine land of Braj, where every place is connected to his life and leelas. This 84 Kos (around 252 km) parikrama includes holy sites in Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Barsana, Nandgaon, and Gokul.
According to belief, when Nand Baba and Yashoda Maa wished to go on a pilgrimage, Lord Krishna called all sacred teerths to Braj, making it a complete spiritual circuit. It is also said that performing this parikrama helps devotees attain freedom from the cycle of 84 lakh yonis. During Chaturmas, the spiritual importance of this yatra increases even more.
Pilgrims walk barefoot or travel by vehicle, visiting temples, kunds, forests, and ghats linked to Krishna’s childhood and youth. The journey is filled with bhajans, prayers, fasting, and devotion. This deep spiritual connection and divine atmosphere make the Braj Chaurasi Kos Yatra truly sacred for Krishna devotees.
