The Braj 84 Kos Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage that most devotees begin between Chaitra Purnima and Baishakh Purnima, which generally falls in March and April. This is considered the most ideal time for the parikrama, as the weather is pleasant and suitable for long walks, temple visits, and exploring the divine sites of Braj Bhoomi. During this period, lakhs of devotees gather to experience the spiritual vibrations of Krishna’s leelas across the 84 kos region.
Along with this traditional schedule, many pilgrims prefer starting the Braj 84 Kos Yatra after Vijaya Dashmi (Dussehra) in the month of October, when the climate again becomes comfortable. Another highly auspicious period is Chaturmaas, as it is believed that during these four sacred months, all major teerths reside in Braj, multiplying the spiritual benefits of doing the parikrama.
The duration of the parikrama depends on the mode you choose. On foot, the yatra takes 30 to 40 days, while by vehicle (car, bus, or Tempo Traveller), it can be completed in 7 to 10 days. Devotees can select the timing and pace according to their comfort, health, and devotion.
