Vibrant summer at the Cham Islands

It takes you about 20 minutes from Cua Dai (Hoi An), you can enjoy “ ốc vú nàng” here and take some photographs on blue beaches…

The Cham Islands are a cluster of islands under Tan Hiep Commune, Hoi An City, Quang Nam District, and about 15 km away from Cua Dai beach.

Although the Cham Islands are located in popular tourist area of Da Nang- Hoi An-Cua Dai-My son sanctuary, it still remains the pristine beauty. The islands are also recognized as Vietnam’s national scenic site and quickly become an interesting destination for groups or couples.

Travel

The islands grouped under the Cham Islands are: the Hòn Lao (Pearl), Hòn Dài (long), Hòn Mồ (tomb), Hòn Khô mẹ, Hòn Khô con (dry), Hòn Lá (leaf), Hòn Tai (ear) and Hòn Ông (east wind). The population on the islands is about 3,000 people. It takes you about 20 minutes to reach the islands by speedboat ( VND 120.000/ person) or more than 1 hour by local train (VND 30.000/person). Also, you can buy a package tour from Da Nang (one day) about VND 450.000/ person.

Where to play?

Small and peaceful, daily life of Cham people start in the early morning when the sun is not yet waking. Fish market is bustling with boats full of fish. In the afternoon, let’s the blue water touch, surround and massage gently for you. You can be also lying on the beach to enjoy the sunshine.

The nearest beach is Xep beach, and the most exotic beach is Chong beach. Both of them are not also disturbed by buying and selling service.

The relic of Ong beach is home to residents Tien Sa Huynh and the most ancient in Hoi An (3000 years). The relic of Ong beach is also an important subject to research the culture of Tien Sa Huynh and the Central in Vietnam.

The archeological relic of Lang beach is also important in the system of archeological relic of Cham Pa in Hoi An and the Central.

In addition to the archeological relics, there is the existence of traditional cultural institutions and beliefs of the central villages. The remaining religious relics are currently in the Cham Islands, built mostly around 17-18 century as Dai Can temple, Thanh Hoang shrines, Tien hien temple, Than nong temple….

You should start your journey to explore the Cham Islands by bike. By this way, you can enjoy the fresh air.

A diving trip or walk in the deep forest, burning campfire on the pristine beach will offer you a real party.

Hotel

There are no hotels or resorts on the Cham Islands but having many interesting homestay guest house ( VND 50.000/ person) for anyone who would like to explore the stunning island.

Cuisine 

The Cham Islands’ specialty is the dish of “ vú nàng”, stone crab and fresh seafood species suach as squid, shrimp, lobster…
