You're wrong if you think you need a ticket to see Tokyo's top sights. Tokyo is known as a gourmet location because there are a lot of Tokyo restaurants for foreigners with delicious food for those who can wait.

Here, you'll find out about a few of these "secret" places to eat. Keep this website on hand if you want to eat at a popular place in Tokyo but are having trouble making reservations because you don't speak the language.

Uosan Sakaba

People in Tokyo have called this well-known izakaya the "Holy Land for Tokyo's old men."

At 4:00 p.m., there is always a long line in front of the restaurant. Fresh fish, which is very popular with customers, comes from Tsukiji Market.

Here, you can get great food for surprisingly low prices. For example, "Maguro no Nakaochi" costs 310 yen, "Nodoguro no Shioyaki" costs 380 yen, and "Nama-Uni" costs 650 yen.

You want to be in the busy bar on the ground floor. To escape being put at a table on the second or third level, it's best to come alone or with a small group of no more than three people.

Masaru

This place is known for its tempura served on top of rice.

The most-ordered item on the menu is the "Ooiri Edo-mae Tendon" (3,700 yen). Some of the seafood choices are luxury kuruma ebi, full tempura-fried anago (conger eel), and Tokyo Bay kisu (sillago) and megochi (big-eyed flathead).

The tendon here is made by a cook who is so picky about his food that he won't even open a restaurant without a certain kind of tendon. It's one of the few "Edo-mae" restaurants still open in Tokyo.

You should eat here if regular food like sushi and beef doesn't fill you up enough.

Torihana

This popular yakitori place may be close to Shinjuku Golden Town.

On the "Omakase" menu, most of the items are chosen by the chef, and there are eight kinds of yakitori. For first-time guests, the "Omakase" set is the best pick.

The owner of the restaurant has a lot of knowledge. He cuts regular meals in a way that makes them taste like they came from a fancy restaurant.

Torihana's menu has all the classic yakitori dishes, like "Kawa (skin)" and "Reba (liver)," as well as some unique dishes, like "Ninniku Me Maki" (garlic sprout roll) and "Shimeji Cheese Maki," which are just as tasty as the more well-known yakitori dishes.

You have found a good place to eat yakitori in Shinjuku.

Sutamina-En

This might be the best place in expeditation Tokyo to eat yakiniku. Shinzo Abe, the prime minister of Japan, is now in line to get into this restaurant.

Every day, a lot of people from the nearby towns go to Sutamina-En to try the expensive and delicious "Wagyu Beef fattened over 36 Months."

You should also try Tokujo Harami (2100 yen), Mixed Horumon (1800 yen), and Miso Nikomi (1000 yen).

The yakiniku at our restaurant has something that everyone can enjoy, no matter what their social standing is.
