Dress & Act Appropriately
In this Islamic state, visitors should observe some rules of dress - mostly limited to avoiding clothing that is too revealing. It's a bit more restrictive for women - no shorts, T-shirts, or short skirts, for example. They must also wear some kind of headscarf or hat to make sure their hair doesn’t show. For men it’s a bit easier. They can wear T-shirts, for example, but they are not allowed to wear shorts in public (though although tourists have been seen to do so and apparently in most cities it’s OK).
Keep in mind, too, that touching and kissing in public is forbidden, as is men and women shaking hands in public.
