Culture abounds in Selayar.  The little seaside village of  Kayu Panda is home to the sea gypsies. If you are lucky, and the season is right, you will get the chance to meet the Bajo. They only live in the village for five months of the year and then head out to sea on their small, colorful  traditional wooden fishing boats roaming the seas, as they have done for centuries.
