DAY 1

Sandals Barbados, definitely a culinary experience.

WOW – The Jetblue flight was delayed – a mechanical – I'm thinking we are lucky they found it before takeoff (5 hours late arriving into BGI)

A tasting of apps immediately following arrival at Bombay. The veggie rolls are a tasty selection. Service was excellent in the restaurant.

DINNER at Schooner’s - LISTEN, this open air restaurant delivered lobster over mashed potatoes that was TO DIE FOR!

Entertainment in Piazza  at 10 pm was really good - The piazza singer’s name is Betty Payne - DON’T MISS HER! After she finished, I walked for a nightcap into the lobby bar to find a PIANO MAN playing and singing. Bed was, however, on my mind.

DAY 2

9:30 am - I signed up for the morning snorkel, which was well one of the best snorkels I’ve had from a resort inclusion - SANDALS does it the best!  I highly recommend to you but sign up the night before because it’s popular - 930 am & 130 pm Monday & Wednesday (Tuesday/Thursday is the glass bottom boat tour, which I didn’t do). You will see some wrecks, a lot of fish, and maybe a turtle if you are lucky (WE WERE).

I then had some phone issues so head out in the afternoon to the Sheraton Centre Mall Celltronics. The mall wasn’t busy at all, but did enjoy the walk through for a little retail therapy. Along with many shops, this popular mall includes an extensive food court, multi-theater movie complex, and gym.

That evening was our group arrival cocktail party in the wedding garden. Entertainment was a new friend I met on the Jetblue flight - a fire eater! It’s a show you don’t want to miss if you can catch him on the island, maybe at the beach party. He’s AWESOME.

DINNER was at Portofino restaurant: shrimp dish with linguini, special cooked to order, as I am a picky eater. Sandals offers "Discovery Dining." If you aren’t asked a million and one times by the waitstaff if you have food allergies or any special request, I’d be surprised.
EXCELLENT pasta with grilled veggies and the biggest tasties shrimp I’ve ever had. I give the F&B department a 10+.

DAY 3

BREAKFAST was room service served with a smile: Blue Mountain coffee, veggie omelette and fruit plate, with some banana bread A MUST!

S
eminar & a tour of this amazing resort, a stunning property that is growing (three or four new buildings soon to come).

LUNCH was at the poolside/beachfront Mariners. I couldn’t decide, so split a pizza and added some jerk chicken, sweet potato fries & coleslaw to the order - both were EXCELLENT!

DINNER at the Merry Monkey Pub was not short of being EXCELLENT PLUS!  I don’t eat much meat so ordered a salad wedge and the scallops ! WHAT A SURPRISE – visually pleasing and OH SO GOOD! Excellent

Ventured off resort to the GAP – St Lawrence Gap which is walking distance from the resort – fun bars, and felt very safe. Barbados is a lovely island with lovely people.

Drinks off property at Buzo’s with new friends Sarah and Flavia (LOVE YOU- WE WERE SO MEANT TO MEET!)

DAY 4

BREAKFAST was  ala carte at Portofino: eggs benedict with spinach which I added  - excellent.

10 am - I did the Island Routes - Reading road trip. These kids rock. The cost is minimal and the experience will remain with you for a lifetime.

Dinner was a private group farewell near the main pool - underneath cover due to the weather. I chose not to eat but had a cocktail and just did some networking because I had a 9:30 pm reservation at the NOT TO BE MISSED Butch’s Chop House

DINNER at  Butch’s was superb - if you stay at Sandals Barbados and leave without experience this restaurant you truly have missed out on a fine dining experience.
The food is not 5+ but 10* (twin lobster, asparagus, and the BEST carrot cake on the planet - OMG).

DAY 5

7 am room service: mimosas, lagoon poolfront. Then departure - and leaving is never easy when you feel the warmth of a place like Sandals Barbados

2 1/2 hrs prior to flight time you must arrive. Note: at airport, s
hopping and a food court are available, but the check-in area is NOT under A/C, nor is gate area. We Americans melt!
