If you are surfing the net looking for holiday ideas then you can stop right now as I have them! Just a short flight time from the UK and you can be in the beautiful country of Portugal. Apart from the obvious attractions which are great beaches and warm ocean waters, Portugal has a holiday type that will satisfy any traveller plus they are in the same time zone to the UK so no jet lagged felt here!

Wine Lovers:

Portugal has over 25 wine regions, spreading from the north right down to the south. You can visit vineyards dotted along the coastline or drive a Portugal car hire into the heart of the country and enjoy traditionally run vineyards and stop at charming villages.

Golf:

The Algarve resort attractions golfers from around the world, the all year excellent temperatures makes it a good place to play a round of golf in either the winter or summer. Just be careful taking that last winning shot on the green; you may get distracted by all of the amazing scenery that surrounds you! If you are a keen golfer then Vilamoura would be a great location for you to stay at.

Families:

Taking the top spot for family holidays in Portugal is the Algarve. The beaches here are generally very safe and perfect for families of all ages. You can collect a car hire in Faro Airport and drive to the lovely town of Albufeira in no time. There is an old town which is a great place to learn a little of the Albufeira’s history and there is a lively marina which is lined with restaurants and cafes.

Adventure:

If the thought of spending your holiday stuck on a sun lounger is enough to bore you to sleep then Portugal is on hand to offer up some great adventure holiday ideas.  Any stretch of the country’s coastline can be prefect for surfing; but if you’re looking for those big daring waves then keep to the northern coastline.  Inland there are some great places for mountain biking; such as the Peneda-Geres National park.
