Getting up early in the morning, you drive to Nagarkot hill to see the breathtaking sunrise view over the snowy peaks. The white peaks change their colour to golden sceneries due to the sunrays. The panoramic Himalayan ranges include Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Sishapangma and Gaurishankar. The green hills, forests and ethnic villages on the terraced hills are also superb. Houses are made up of stone and mud with local craftsmanship. Local people are mainly farmers in this area.

The hike begins after having breakfast. First, you hike down to Telkot by passing some traditional villages where you can see the daily lifestyle of locals and make local wine. The people of this area feed the animals so you can enjoy the little baby goats and play with them. Then your hike starts second part to Changu Narayan temple walking through the green pine forest with a view of the valley on both sides and beautiful snowcaps. It takes 3.5 to 4 hours to hike.

The Changu Narayan temple is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites in the Kathmandu valley among seven of them. There are ancient materials, stone sculptures from where Nepali writing had started and wooden crafts along with sculptures. The main temple of Changu Narayan temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Exploring this wonderful culture, the Nagarkot hike ends up and drives further to Kathmandu.
