In the age of the Kindle, this bookstore is still thriving in a former theater. In 1919, the Grand Splendid theatre was opened. It was transformed into a bookstore in 2000. Although most of the seating has been replaced by bookshelves, many original features, such as the balconies and painted cupola, have been preserved.
