Since its opening in July 2002, Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa has gathered its share of industry honours and has been praised by several publications, including Condé Nast Traveler's GOLD LIST of "The World's Best Places to Stay" in January 2011. Part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux collection, Le Taha'a welcomes you to a world of immaculate beauty, a timeless universe of sophistication and authenticity.
Located on the secluded Motu Tautau islet, facing the lush island of Taha'a on one side and the majestic silhouette of Bora Bora on the other side, the resort, inspired by traditional Polynesian architecture and style, hosts 57 remarkable suites and villas. Defined by the Relais & Chateaux philosophy, Le Taha'a is the promise of a total change of scenery, a way of life of its own, in harmony with its preserved environment, people and local culture. Welcome to Le Taha'a world… The ultimate Tahitian hideaway…
Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa is a 5-star property, located on a "motu" islet, a 35-minute navigation from the Raiatea Airport (transfers operated by the resort's shuttle boats) and a 5-minute boat ride from the village of Tapuamu (free transfers from the resort) on the main island of Taha'a. The ultimate way to connect between Taha'a and Bora is definitely by helicopter ! Beyond being an easy and quick transfer, this 14-minute flight will be an excursion of pure beauty as you fly above the stunningly gorgeous Tahitian lagoons.
Our life style: genuinely Polynesian, purely authentic!
The Owners' wish was to keep the resort as natural and as green as possible. The whole resort was built around the existing vegetation. You will discover beautiful old trees, colorful flowers and plants, something quite unusual on a "motu", thanks to the use of seaweed as fertilizers.
You will see no club cars travelling around the property. The setting is all harmony with nature… Serene…
Whether on the beach or above the shimmering lagoon, you will enjoy the idyllic surroundings and the tropical outdoor lifestyle Le Taha'a offers.
- The 45 Overwater Suites are spacious, luminous, exquisitely decorated and feature large wrap-around decks, thatched-roof gazebo and direct access to the crystal-clear waters. They offer unsurpassed views of the lagoon's kaleidoscope of blues.
- The 10 Beach Villas could be considered our Signature accommodations. Open onto the white sand beach, they offer one bedroom and a separate living area with their own plunge pool, thatched roof cabana and tropical garden, an outside bathtub and shower, to fully enjoy the starlit skies of the Tahitian islands.
- The 2 Royal Beach Villas are built in the same concept as the Beach Villas and feature 2 bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms.
All suites and villas at Le Taha'a are built in the pure Polynesian tradition, exquisitely blending thatched pandanus roofs, bamboo, exotic woods, stones, corals, Marquesan "tapa" cloths, and woven coconut "nape" ropes. Whether on the beach or above the shimmering lagoon, you will enjoy the idyllic surroundings and the tropical outdoor lifestyle Le Taha'a offers. Refined elegance and bare luxury…
The Overwater Suites all have the same layout, the difference being the location, the views, and the amenities. One main point for all though is the unsurpassed views of the sparkling lagoon, kaleidoscope of blues…
The Spa is nestled in a beautiful exotic garden, overlooking the calm resort's interior laguna and surrounded by bamboo trees.
This little haven of peace is a true escape to a world of color, energy and deep well-being…
wide range of massages as well as body exfoliations and wraps are available. Massages may as well be enjoyed right on the lagoon as sun sets over Bora Bora…
Balneotherapy will be your best ally against jetlag and after a long flight.
"Monoi", the sacred traditional Polynesian oil infused from coconuts and flowers is used for most treatments. This gift from earth will feed your imagination, and transport you to be in perfect harmony with nature. A reward for all senses…
Le Taha'a is surrounded by pristine waters and is located steps from an incredible coral garden. You will get up, close and personal with the teeming sea life and the most adventurous ones may experience the drift snorkel that carries you from the small reef at the edge of the islet right to the heart of the coral garden.
