Khayer Lake Trek is an alternative trek in the Annapurna region situated between the classic Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Jomsom Trek. It is a newly promoted trekking route with the mixed culture of Gurung and Magar people and exceptional mountain views including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Nilgiri from Khopra Ridge and Poon Hill. the views of the mountains are equally best as the Mardi himal trek.
Trekking at Kari Lake is off the beaten track in the Annapurna Region, on long, remote mountain ridges through rhododendron forests, and visiting traditional villages along the way. Leaving Pokhara, our trip begins in the lower, more temperate region of forested hillsides and Gurung and Magar villages. As we ascend through the rhododendron woodlands, we see spectacular views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre.
Upon reaching Khopra Ridge, our encampment is directly beneath Mt. Annapurna. A beautiful alpine experience awaits us as we walk up to the sacred lake above Khair. As we trek back to Pokhara from Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, we follow the main Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek and ABC Trek itinerary for one of the most famous panoramas in the Annapurna area or we have an alternative trail to head down to Tatopani from Khopra Ridge which lies on the way to Jomsom Muktinath Trek or Annapurna Circuit Trail part two. After the trek, we'll drive back to Pokhara via Tatopani where we can take a 'natural hot spring' healing bath and have a drink
