Established in 1993, this country´s largest and one of the most popular of its 29 national parks covers around 27,000 square kilometers (10,425 sq. miles), of the famous Gobi Gurvan Saikhan Mountains on the northern edge of the Gobi Desert in Mongolia´s north, an hour´s flight from capital Ulaanbaatar (formally romanized as Ulan Bator), and stretching around 380km (236 mi.) from east to west and just 80km (50 mi.) from north to south.

wonderful sand dunes, the mountain with chance, and ice canyon. Some areas of it are developed and some are still developing. Some people call it the feeling of landing on Mars because of the eerie landscapes where there is lacking life as it is sparsely populated. This National Park is known for its stunning natural beauty. There are higher elevations at some points in the National Park because of steppe in the desert. Those elevations can reach up to 2600 meters of height.

Landmarks include Khongoryn Els, the "Singing Sands", a large complex of sand dunes that reach to the southeastern Altai Mountains

There are some amazing plants and animals, including rare ones such as the snow leopard and the Gobi (Bactrian) camel, native to the steppes of Central Asia. Others include black-tailed gazelles, wild asses, Kozlov's Pygmy Jerboas, ibexes, and 200 bird species such as the desert finch, desert warbler, cinereous vulture, and houbara bustard. We have various great experiences on our Mongolia holiday packages.
