Italy is a diverse and beautiful country with a lot to offer. From north to south you'll find everything from world's most beautiful fashion in Milan, to the floating city of Venice, Rome's unique history, the arts in Tuscany and the sun of Sicily. Here are five destinations you do not want to miss.

1. Milan - the mecca of fashion

Milan is the ultimate Italian favorite for city style bon vivant. The city is also Italy's economic and financial center, but known mostly for its world class fashion houses. So grab a bargain holiday accommodation and shop till you drop!

2. Venice - the Queen of the Adriatic

Venice.jpg

The floating city is a place that has to be seen at some point in life. Venice is a completely car-free city: try different means of transportation - boat bus "vaporetto" or water taxi "traghetti". Or a romantic gondola. Visit San Marco's Square, enjoy a drink and love the view. If you are hungry you get more for your money at any of the side streets. Make a stop at the oldest coffee shop, Caffé Florian, where Casanova, Rousseau, Wagner and Hemmingway, have sipped their cappuccinos.

3. Rome - Ad Urbe Condita

Started as a small village in a marshy area, today Rome is one of Europe's finest and most fascinating cities. See the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica and the ruins of the Roman Forum, eat well and drink fabulously good coffee in one of the numerous cozy cafes and restaurants.

4. Tuscany - a postcard from Italy

Tuscany1.jpgTuscany is known for its splendid beauty, a beauty that has inspired generations of artists. A day trip is worth to the art cities of Siena, Florence and San Gimignano, but Tuscany is best known for its good food and wine (here is the Chianti district). Indulge yourself in the romantic countryside with rolling hills, vineyards and charming villages.

5. Sicily - the river island

Sicily has a volcanic landscape, dramatically carved by 15 rivers. The steep climbs, beautiful beaches and Mediterranean climate, make it just a perfect holiday place. There are several charming towns like Taormina and Cefalù and the Sicilian capital Palermo.
