CheapOair Announces Its Top 10 Halloween Destinations

While many travelers tend to think about Thanksgiving and the December holidays as your typical “travel” holidays – don’t overlook Halloween. This spooky, sugary event has adventurers crossing the globe in search of their next scare. If you’re wondering where to go, check out the travel trends on our most popular destinations. And remember, with CheapOair, you’ll get cheap flights – not cheap frights.

1) Las Vegas

Las Vegas hosts their “Howl-o-Week” from October 25-November 3. Here, you can experience parades, zombie runs, Madame Tussauds After Dark, and even Evil Dead: The Musical!

2) Los Angeles

Is there any doubt that LA would put on an awesome Halloween party? If you’re looking for the scare of your life, check out The Alone Experience – a 30 minute haunted house that you must complete by yourself. If you’ve got kids in tow, swing by Boo at the Zoo and Eek At the Greek – both great for families.

3) Orlando

The theme parks have always been the stars of the show in Orlando. Around Halloween, it’s no different. Grownups should check out Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, where you can relive experiences from The Walking Dead, Resident Evil, Evil Dead and more. If you’re looking for something gentler, check out Mickey’s “Not-So-Scary” Halloween Party, and trick-or-treat with your favorite characters.

4) Fort Lauderdale

There’s never really a bad time to visit Fort Lauderdale, and Halloween is no different. Check out amazing Halloween parties, pub crawls, and everything else this sunny getaway has to offer.

5) Miami

Miami is a city that’s famous for its lavish parties. This is especially true around Halloween, when locals head out to dance the night away. After you’re done working on your tan for the day, check out any of the countless parties to ring in Halloween.

6) San Francisco

Lovely San Francisco might just be your best bet for a Halloween getaway with the kids. It was recently rated as the #1 trick-or-treat town in America, so if you’re traveling with the family, it might be worth it to take advantage of local enthusiasm.

7) Dallas-Fort Worth

Head on down to Texas, where there are plenty of activities that are perfect for the whole family! If your children don’t like being frightened, make sure to check out the “Boo at the Zoo” at Fort Worth Zoo, where they can enjoy animals, treats, and a costume contest!

8) Phoenix

Whether you’re with the family or flying solo, Phoenix has plenty of Halloween activities for you. Here, you can check out everything from hay rides to haunted houses to all-night dances parties.

9) Denver

Denver is well known for its “Mile-High” haunts! Cinephiles can take in the Mile-High Horror Film Festival presented by the Alamo Drafthouse, undead fans can enjoy the Denver Zombie Crawl and more!  Plus, if you’re really brave, check out the Stanley Hotel. It’s where Stephan King was inspired to write The Shining.

10) Atlanta

Check Out “The Big Boo” in Atlanta, Georgia! There are events going on all over the city, all of which are perfect for the season. Pay a visit to Six Flags Over Georgia, boldly explore the Netherworld Haunted House, and more!

No matter what you want out of this Halloween, these cities can make it happen. So what are you waiting for? Check out CheapOair today!

  • I'd add New Orleans! Lots of spooky vibes.

  • Hi Dave Acton, these are not the Top Destinations as far as great places to celebrate Halloween, but rather top because this is where Our travelers booked flights during this time last year.

  • Beating the Thanksgiving rush w/ spooky deals :)   And too bad New Orleans isn't on the list :(

  • Wait, are you people serious? Fort Lauderdale, Phoenix, and Denver are on this list but not friggin' NEW YORK CITY??  You must have some bizarre agenda, this can't be taken seriously.
