Annapurna Base Camp Trek 8 Days cost & Itinerary

The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is one of the most popular and awe-inspiring trekking routes in Nepal, offering breathtaking views of the majestic Annapurna mountain range. Starting from Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city, the trek takes you through lush green forests, charming villages, terraced fields, and serene rivers before reaching the base camp, located at an elevation of 4,130 meters (13,549 feet) above sea level.

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the trek's starting point. From there, you'll follow a well-marked trail that leads you through charming villages like Ghandruk and Chhomrong. Along the way, you'll pass through rhododendron and bamboo forests, where you might spot various wildlife and bird species. As you ascend, the landscape changes, and you'll be surrounded by the towering peaks of Annapurna I, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli.

The trek can take around 7 to 12 days, depending on your pace and the number of acclimatization days you include. The higher you climb, the more challenging the trail becomes, but the reward is the spectacular view of Annapurna South, Annapurna I, and the glacier-covered Annapurna Sanctuary when you reach the base camp.

Throughout the journey, you'll have the opportunity to interact with the local Gurung and Magar communities, experiencing their warm hospitality and learning about their unique culture and traditions. Teahouses and lodges along the way offer basic but comfortable accommodation and hearty Nepali meals to refuel for the next day's trek.
