Starting from the trailhead in Pokhara, the city of lakes, the Annapurna Base Camp trek takes adventurers through a diverse range of terrain. Check out the itinerary for the regular ABC trek below:

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara

  • Drive or fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a gateway city to the Annapurna region.
  • Explore Pokhara's lakeside area and prepare for the trek.

Day 2: Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga

  • Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (around 1.5 hours).
  • Begin the trek, passing through Birethanti and hiking uphill to Tikhedhunga.

Day 3: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

  • Trek through the rhododendron forests, crossing the village of Ulleri.
  • Arrive at Ghorepani, a village known for its panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Day 4: Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani

  • Early morning hike to Poon Hill for a breathtaking sunrise view over the mountains
  • Return to Ghorepani for breakfast and then trek to Tadapani.

Day 5: Tadapani to Chhomrong

  • Descend through forests to the Gurung village of Chhomrong.
  • Enjoy views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Day 6: Chhomrong to the Himalaya

  • Descend to the Chhomrong Khola and then climb up to Sinuwa.
  • Descend through a dense forest to Bamboo, a small settlement.
  • Trek through bamboo and rhododendron forests, passing Dovan and Himalaya villages.
  • Reach Deurali, a quiet spot in the valley with great mountain views.

Day 7: Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp

  • Continue trekking through the valley, passing the Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC).
  • Arrive at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), surrounded by towering peaks.

Day 8: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo

  • Enjoy the sunrise views from ABC and then begin the descent.
  • Trek back to Bamboo, passing through MBC and Deurali.

Day 10: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

  • Trek to Jhinu Danda, where you can relax in natural hot springs.
  • Descend to Nayapul and then drive back to Pokhara.
  • Celebrate the completion of your trek in Pokhara.
  • Drive back to Pokhara.

Drive in the morning to Pokhara after breakfast.
