  • Chettalli village - If you want to get away from the bustle of city life while exploring Coorg district, Chettalli village is the perfect destination. The small serene village located on the Madikeri – Siddapur Road is where you can send a day to refresh your eyes and mind. The greenery and quietness is amazing and nowadays you can find a few home stay facilities too. The misty hills and coffee plantations nearby are alluring.

  • Mandalpatti - Those who love trekking can head to the beautiful Mandalpatti. The hilltop offers an amazing view of the surroundings and it is also ideal for camping. From Mandalpatti forest checkpoint you can either trek or take jeep to reach the viewpoint hilltop. It will be necessary to carry water and required accessories since the region is cut from urban life and amenities. It offers great imaging opportunities too.

  • Cauvery Nisargadhama - A beautiful forest resort in an island, Nisargadhamais located 1 few kms from Kushalanagar town in Coorg. The 64 acre island, encircled by the majestic Cauvery River is accessible through a hanging bridge. Since its inauguration in 1989, the park has become a tourist magnet. It is a picnic spot and you can explore a deer park and orchidarium. There are cottages surrounded by foliage of bamboo for staying in the island as well.

  • Raja’s Seat -True to its name, Raja’s Seat is a royal hangout place where the erstwhile rulers of Mysore used to visit with their queens to enjoy natural beauty. Now, it is a beautifully maintained garden replete with artificial fountains and array of colorful flowers. You will find refreshing layers of greenery and the surrounding misty mountains are ideal for photography buffs. It also has a toy train for the kids.

  • Brahmagiri peak - The picturesque Brahmagiri peak is a trekking lover’s paradise and the lush greenery is soothing on your eyes. The tropical plants, flowers and streams on the way are amazing. You cannot miss out the nearby Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary where exotic bird species can be spotted. You can also see wildlife species like lion-tailed macaque, sambar, leopard cat and barking deer. It is composed of semi evergreen forest and abundance of bamboos is there.

  • Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary - It is another destination for nature and wildlife lovers visiting Coorg district. It is surrounded by dense forests and you can spot exotic and rare bird species here like as Malabar Grey Hornbill, white-bellied blue flycatcher and blue winged parakeet.

Reaching Coorg from major citie sin Karnataka is easy. The Mangalore International Airport is 160 km away while Mysore railway station is 120 km away. The KSRTC bus services can be used to reach places in Coorg from the cities like Bengaluru and Mangalore.  You can pick from the fantastic coorg tour packages with price offered by top travel agencies but choosing the time between November and March is prudent.
